First,
I would like to ask you what is coronavirus? Coronavirus are a large family of
viruses which may cause illness in animals or humans. In humans, several
coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections ranging from the common
cold to more severe disease such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). The most recently discovered coronavirus
causes Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
COVID-19
is the infectious disease caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus. This
new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China,
in December 2019. It affects different people in different ways. Most infected
people will develop mild to moderate symptoms. The common symptoms are fever,
tiredness, dry cough and some people may experience aches and
pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, diarrhea.
On
average it takes 5-6 days from when someone is infected with the virus for
symptoms to show, however it can take up to 14 days. People with mild symptoms
who are otherwise healthy should self-isolate. Seek medical attention if you
have a fever, a cough, and difficulty breathing.
For
these means protect yourself and others around you by knowing the facts and
taking appropriate precautions. Follow advice provided by your local public health
agency. To prevent the spread of COVID-19,
·
Clean
your hands often. Use soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand rub.
· Maintain
a safe distance from anyone who is coughing or sneezing (Observe Social
Distancing).
·
Don’t
touch your eyes, nose and mouth.
· Cover
your nose and mouth with your bent elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
·
Stay
home if you feel unwell.
· If
you have a fever, a cough, and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention.
·
Follow
the directions of your local health authority.
I
did some questions to my friends like “How does COVID 19 AFFECTS
you/life of people around the Globe?” and here it goes …
Florencio Salvo
It is such a forlorn feeling about the global desolation caused by this
infectious disease called COVID-19. Many of us remain perplexed and dithered as
to how rapid it spreads across the globe and, worst, it costs many lives. As
coronavirus disease continues to jet and alight invisibly, scientists now
report that the virus has mutated to become two strains: the older ‘S-type’
appears milder and less infectious, while the later-emerging ‘L-type’, is more
aggressive, spreads more quickly, and currently accounts for about 70 percent
of cases. Many a question continues to linger most especially on the possible
antidote to end this complete mayhem. Sadly, there is no cure yet.
How does COVID-19 affect me and the many?
Setting things straight, the declaration of the Enhanced Community
Quarantine (ECQ) is
one repercussion of this pandemic.
ECQ has allowed us to dispense our roles and
responsibilities at work, school, church and others in our very limited
ways. The crux of
the matter is to oblige people to strictly stay at home to avoid physical
encounters in
public places. I believe that this ECQ is a measure to curtail and eventually
desist the COVID-19 threat.
Undeniably, this predicament is a detriment most especially to the pink
of anyone's health. I am afraid of the contagious nature of the disease and its
very common symptoms like cough, colds, among others. What is more horrible is
knowing that there are even those who are infected, albeit asymptomatic. Whoever
knows that the person next to you is already infected or a virus carrier in the
blink of an eye? Moreover, I am afraid of the possible extension of the ECQ for
it prolongs the agony of those who have unstable or, worst, no jobs at all.
Although, the government is doing its best to provide the necessary services to
the people during these unprecedented times, I am afraid of how we are going to
recover economically once this ECQ is lifted.
Personally, my job as an educator is eminently affected for it
constitutes extra responsibilities, creates backlogs, demands flexibility and
patience, etc.
Conversely, what makes me feel blue is to hear and see some people lenient,
complacent and pathetic towards COVID-19. Some do not even believe until they
experience it firsthand. Some are obstinate to follow government mandates and
policies, to wit: curfew, social distancing, liquor ban, ECQ pass, wearing of
face mask. Some are ungrateful of the small help heartily extended to them and
are impatient to wait for graces at the doorstep.
Without batting an eyelash, the
wrath of COVID-19 knows no person, status, time. If it hits you, it really hits
you hard. I believe that we still have so much to do to prevent from this
disease to proliferate on our own unthinkable ways. Instead of murmuring and
complaining, let us shift our paradigm anyway on how to be more productive in a
day. Prayer is our primary weapon coupled with a tangible action.

COVID 19 greatly affects the life of every individual most especially the
Filipino people. This pandemic disease made us realize that there is no such
thing as high or low, rich or poor, good looking or not, black and white, and
even child or adult. Therefore, all of us can be the host of this virus.
Works/livelihoods are lost. Education
for every student are being affected. All of us are hiding in our own house
just to protect ourselves from this nightmare. Those who were infected/positive
seems like living in miserable because their family won’t allow them to take
good care of them and in fact they need to fight the virus ALONE. As time goes
by many are being infected and died including our some of our modern heroes
(frontliners).
The government and some organization or just a single good-hearted
person, donated and gave people the essential needs that they need to sustain
their daily living. But they questions is until WHEN? People with less
fortunate or poorest of the poor are greatly affected. I can't blame why some
of them doesn't follow the rules that the government wanted us to follow. A
hungry tummy doesn’t recognize law. That is why even if we are facing a battle
where we can’t see or enemy, still they need to work just to buy foods in order
for them to feed their hungry tummies.
I salute those frontliners who sacrifice their lives and to those people
who spend time and spend their helping hands to us to give what we really need.
As of now, what we can do is to STAY SAFE, FOLLOW THE RULES, and don’t
forget to ALWAYS PRAY TO HIM. Everything will be okay and Everything will back
to normal soon 💕

COVID-19 is the pandemic happenings in our country and also in the entire
world today. It really affects the entire people around the world most
especially to the poor people in our country that cannot sustain their needs in
every day. In terms of facilities to fight against this COVID-19 our country
cannot provide all the needs and also our tourism is being lessen, many of our
people are suffering, works are being suspended due to this pandemic happening
and also frontliners are sacrificing their lives to save others. This happening,
affect my career and also in our students in a way of our classes are being
suspended not only our classes but also our graduation for our beloved grade 12
and grade 10 completers as reward of their eagerness on their studies. We all
know that graduation is one of our most memorable happenings in our lives as a
student.

HOW DOES COVID-19 AFFECT YOU/LIFE OF PEOPLE AROUND THE GLOBE?
The effects of COVID-19 spreads rapidly on everything just like how quick
the virus
moves. From the poorest of the poor to economically and financially
stable individuals,
from “Isang kahig, isang tuka” and
the delightful foods from our tables. Seriously,
this is not a problem that can be solved by laughing. It is an
exceptional problem the
world is facing. What are some of
the effects COVID-19 brought us? Are we nigh in flattening the curve?
Back when we had our daily lives - our job, gathering, fiestas, summer
escapade, shopping, just the natural routines we do. Now, we might not have any
of the aforesaid samples. Life is and never will be easy even if most of us had
our jobs then. What we had as our wage been just pretty enough to survive a
day. And that’s a fact! Most of us don’t
have nest egg to sustain our needs if we don’t have a living. Today, about a
big percent of the world faces scarcity not only in money - but most of all,
FOOD.
This is where the Government set foot in. These past weeks, we’ve been
receiving goods to provide our needs. Some may complain on what they received
saying it is not enough for them and most of those who received gave thanks
heartily. To be honest, some people don’t know how and when the problem
started. The virus is contagious and so is blame. We should always prepare to whatever
circumstances we can encounter. That’s why the government had this budget for
Calamity fund to be able to help the society. But the society is not cooperating
and helping at all. Blameworthy, just like the virus should be contained. Not
humanity or discipline. If the government has it’s so called Calamity Fund,
each family should also have to. Some people depend on the Government so much
but the Government can’t depend on us.
See, the virus had revealed our weaknesses. Our government, the
healthcare system, peoples’ discipline and humanity. For me, these are the
Major effects COVID-19. These effects
lead a domino effect on each of us. From the containment of the COVID-19, the
society hasn’t understood what damage it can cause. Society lack discipline,
this is why we are labeled not humans at all since following rules is not the
trend anymore. The Government is in a war which is not visible to the human eye.
If the containment of the virus from the society fails, the government falls
and so will be our healthcare system.
These are only few of the effects of COVID-19 that are clearly and
possibly the fate of having a stubborn society.
So, to flat the curve each of us SHOULD move a bit to stop the domino
effect that affected us all. Stop the blame to end COVID-19 flame.

To tell you honestly, I got scared. Because of how the virus spread, the
lives of people it
took. I got scared for my family, I also asked myself, are we safe? But
the best thing to
do is you just have to follow what
gov't officials told you to do, that is to stay at home.
Staying at home for almost a month and still counting, that is all we
have to do. All we
have to do is to cooperate. I hope this pandemic would end. And we will
go back to
normal situation.
